How CAMDA's supporters help with the disaster

This is how your donatons were spent providing aid in Altanbulag soum (Tov Province).
Accompanied by Batsaa our Project Supervisor based in UB, delivery was made of:
Humanitarian aid :- 5 tonnes 1st grade wheat flour, 5 tonnes rice, 1 tonne sugar, 400Kg milk powder.
Animal aid :-  9 tonnes of concentrated fodder,  60 litres of Ivermectin (anti-parasitic medicine)

Mrs Batmunh, the soum Governor,  brought delegates of herders to the soum centre to receive their aid. Bag (village) governors will distribute the rest of it to herders in remote locations. Pictures  here
She  expressed her deep gratitude to CAMDA and its generous supporters.

To maximise our other aid efforts we at times cooperated  with "86400" - a small  Mongolian ngo in UB, run by young volunteers to help us distribute supplies to herder/nomadic families. This keeps transport and distribution costs down, leaving more to spend on actual aid supplies. With your donations, and 86400's  invaluable assistance, urgent and essential resources have been provided to many Dundgobi soums.

CAMDA first delivered 55 tonnes of coal, plus 150 litres of animal feed supplement to  Erdenedalai soum.  Gurvansaikhan soum received 10 tonnes of smashed/crushed wheat, plus 50 litres of "Targa" vet solution.
Generous funding by WSPA provided bulk deliveries of concentrated feed - with 60 tonnes to Erdenedalai, 50 tonnes to  Adaatsaag, and 20 tonnes to Delgertsogt.  (See WSPA's page for details and pictures)

The humanitarian arm of European Space Agency (ESA) awarded CAMDA 3000 Euros for fodder aid to Gurvansaikhan, enough for between 110 and 130 families and 1000 animals. This took place late April, with 15 tonnes of crushed wheat delivered to needful families who were most appreciative. Pictures are of fodder being loaded ready for delivery. Distribution pictures will follow later.

To those who attended the hugely successful CAMDA-hosted event (jointly held with "86400" ngo) at the Renaissance Hotel Holborn on 5th March, you will be pleased to learn that £5000 ($7,500 approx) was raised and sent immediately to UB.
From their  base (also in UB),  86400's volunteers transported it to Dundgobi during the last 2 weeks of March, distributing:

280 units of hay; 200 units of straw; 6 tonnes of corn; 4 tonnes of fodder; 158 kgs dry milk. This was shared among  550 households in Delgertsegt, Luus, Delgerhangai, Adaatsag, Omnogobi, Saintsagaan, and SaihanOvoo soums.

Our grateful thanks to  all who organised and then put the Holborn Hotel Event donations to such good use so quickly.

Pictures from Erdenedali soum in Dundgobi are of aid  to herder families in conditions that can only be described as appalling. Storms repeatedly struck the area, of both snow and dust and at times making for semi-darkness. One herder with 70 sheep lost 40 in one bad storm, and a few days later wasn't sure if he had any left.
